Our client is seeking 3 skilled and dedicated IT Field Service Engineers to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities

  1. On-Site Technical Support:
    1. Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software components, including servers, workstations, printers, and networking equipment.
    1. Respond to service requests promptly and professionally, either remotely or by visiting client sites.
    1. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  2. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
    1. Analyze technical problems and implement effective solutions, collaborating with teammates and team members as needed.
    1. Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and rectify complex IT issues.
    1. Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.
  3. Preventive Maintenance:
    1. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patches, and security audits.
    1. Conduct system health checks to proactively identify and address potential problems.
    1. Implement best practices to ensure the stability and reliability of client systems.
  4. Client Communication:
    1. Communicate with teammates in a clear and professional manner to understand their IT needs and concerns.
    1. Provide guidance and advice on IT best practices, upgrades, and technology trends.
    1. Keep teammates informed about the progress of ongoing technical support tasks.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Maintain accurate records of service activities, including configurations, repairs, and installations.
    1. Generate detailed reports outlining work performed, resolutions provided, and any follow-up actions required.
  6. Collaboration:
    1. Collaborate with other IT professionals, including help desk technicians, network administrators, and project managers, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
    1. Share knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as an IT Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role.
  • Solid understanding of hardware, software, and networking technologies.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting a wide range of IT issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems Windows, macOS, and software applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach to service delivery.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites as required.
  • Relevant certifications e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Cisco CCNA are a plus.

Travel

  • Role is at least 70% travel.
  • Employees pay travel expenses and turn in weekly expense report for reimbursement.
  • Employee arranges and books their own travel.
  • Employee is entitled to any and all Frequent Travel program points and miles.
