12758 Remote Payroll Specialist


Our client is looking for a Remote Payroll Specialist to handle the following duties:

  • Prepare, analyze, and input payroll entries.
  • Process new hire and exit payroll details as well as off cycle and manual checks, when necessary.
  • Maintain and audit employee records, set up benefit deductions and garnishments.
  • Assist with annual audits and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with new hire orientations-benefits enrollments; set up in Nexonia for timecard tracking & PTO accruals.
  • Process changes to employee profiles, such as benefits enrollments, tax withholding, garnishments, address changes and direct deposit.
  • Prepare and transmit payroll bi-weekly for employees located in 35+ states.
  • Perform post payroll activities and file uploads.
  • Review system-generated reports for errors and discrepancies.
  • Pull time card/PTO report from time tracking system.
  • Audit payroll and account analysis of payroll accounts.
  • Workman’s Compensation Audits, 401k Audits.
  • Update tax withholding in states, counties, city taxes.
  • Answer employee questions and respond to employee payroll issues in a timely manner.
  • Research and calculate adjustments to employee pay.
  • Assist in the quarterly and year end payroll tax returns.
  • Prepare management reports, such as payroll, overtime, employee rosters, headcount.
  • Responsible for collecting and analyzing payroll information to accomplish a zero error rate on W-2 and T4 tax forms.
  • Work to ensure accuracy of all benefit information, 401k, wage garnishments and deductions including ACA compliance.
  • Additional payroll and HR duties as required.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION

  • Minimum requirement:  Associate’s Degree and 5 – 6 years payroll-related experience and training.
    • Experience with ADP WFN is required.
    • Nexonia time tracking and ADP Team Pay experience preferred.
    • Experience with Canada payroll preferred.
    • Extremely organized, detail oriented with accurate and thorough data entry skills.
    • CPP preferred.
    • Knowledge of Federal, State and local payroll tax regulations including withholding, depositing, and reporting.
    • Familiarity with multi-state payroll rules and laws.
