Our client in Plano, Texas is seeking a customer-facing Business Analyst to help bring structure, clarity, and prioritization to a fast-paced, reactive development environment. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders, external customers (including automotive dealerships), designers, and developers to ensure requirements are clearly defined, properly prioritized, and delivered right the first time.
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, can guide (and occasionally challenge) stakeholders, and excels at translating complex ideas into clear, actionable user stories.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and document business and technical requirements from multiple internal and external sources
- Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, designers, and development teams throughout the sprint lifecycle
- Translate high-level or reactive requests into well-structured, prioritized user stories
- Break down complex initiatives into manageable, clearly defined tasks
- Drive prioritization in an environment without a formal intake or prioritization process
- Ensure user stories entering sprints are clear, complete, and aligned with business priorities
- Build and manage approval cycles to avoid misalignment between stakeholders, design, and development
- Identify disconnects early and proactively resolve misunderstandings before development begins
- Determine when requirements should be communicated visually (wireframes) versus in writing
- Create wireframes using tools such as Balsamiq or similar BA/design tools
- Work closely with leadership to ensure requirements align with the company’s strategic priorities
- Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to pivot as priorities evolve
- Occasionally engage directly with customers at car dealerships to gather or validate requirements
Required Experience & Skills
- 6–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst (early to mid-career level)
- Proven experience working with both internal and external customers, from junior staff to executive leadership
- Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to:
- Lead conversations
- Ask clarifying questions
- Push back when requirements are unclear or misaligned
- Excellent ability to operate in ambiguous and fast-moving environments
- Experience writing clear, detailed user stories that developers can execute without excessive follow-up
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience using tools such as Trello (or similar), Balsamiq, and modern BA toolsets
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and facilitation skills
