13109 Director of Career and Technical Training

Our client in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking a Director of Career and Technical Training.  In this role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of comprehensive training programs designed to enhance workforce skills and support competitive employment outcomes. This role collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure training competency and consistency across all departments and positions.

The Director oversees the planning, management, and continuous improvement of training programs across multiple service areas, including call center operations, construction and skilled trades, hospitality, custodial services, information technology, and other supporting program staff. In addition, the role provides operational and logistical support to career centers and partner departments.

A key responsibility of this position is leading the implementation and successful launch of the Career and Technical Academy, followed by ongoing oversight of training operations, program quality, and facility management. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and maintains strong partnerships with employers, community organizations, and government agencies to assess workforce needs, design employer-driven training initiatives, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Maintains current knowledge of labor market trends, employer skill requirements, hiring needs, and effective workforce development strategies and curricula.
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and management of the organization’s Mission Services training strategy and associated programs.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains a comprehensive portfolio of training programs aligned with community employment needs.
  • Researches emerging training methodologies and professional development resources; leads or contributes to feasibility studies and business plans for new training initiatives.
  • Plans, develops, and delivers training materials for employees, clients, and external customers to support skill advancement and career pathways.
  • Monitors and evaluates training and certification outcomes to ensure effectiveness and compliance with organizational goals.
  • Conducts post-implementation reviews and recommends improvements to curriculum, delivery models, and program structure.
  • Expands trade skills training programs beyond the Nashville market.
  • Engages professionally and respectfully with individuals of diverse abilities and social and economic backgrounds.

 ADMINISTRATIVE & LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and manages a master training calendar and prepares reports, correspondence, newsletters, and records related to training and professional development activities.
  • Collaborates with the Vice President of Mission Services, Director of Mission Integration, and Marketing team to develop branding, marketing strategies, and budgets for new training programs and services.
  • Oversees departmental administration, including budgeting, billing, expense management, timekeeping, and performance management of direct reports.
  • Recruits, trains, and evaluates Training Managers to ensure programs effectively support client employment outcomes.
  • Ensures compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or social services-related field such as Communications, Business Management, Industrial Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Public Service (required).
  • Master’s degree (preferred).
