Our client in Tulsa is searching for an I&E Designer IV.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Conducts complex design assignments for the Engineering Department and functions as a technical specialist, formulating and developing advanced engineering and design concepts.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops Engineering Standards for EI&C equipment purchases and installations
Defines Projects by determining project objectives, selecting technical strategies and providing technical assistance to the business unit(s)
Plans Projects by writing specifications, developing schedules, and identifying and developing process design of additions and improvement to existing processes
Oversees construction of EI&C Capital Projects
Develops project scopes, budgets and AFEs for approval and ensures projects meet budget as well as refinery and OSHA standards
Implements Projects by monitoring performance, taking corrective actions, providing feedback to project team such as generating, monitoring, and updating operating procedures and periodical reporting, and negotiating for materials, supplies and services
Solves technical problems related to projects and troubleshoots and updates report data for business unit(s)
Upgrades, designs, configures, maintains and monitors related equipment and performance
Analyzes related components and systems, processes and methods, and refinery processes and economics
Ensures the maintenance and integrity of business unit(s) data
Designs chemical plant EI&C equipment and devises processes for manufacturing chemicals and products
Conducts research to develop new and improved process control processes
Designs and plans layout for EI&C on a commercial scale
Determines most effective arrangement of Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls; such as Burner Management, Safety Instrumented Systems, and Power Distribution Equipment
Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of eight years of progressive work experience in electrical, instrumentation & controls is required. Emphasis on controls engineering and power distribution is required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Refinery or petrochemical industry experience is preferred.
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent amount of experience is required.
