Our client in Addison, Texas, is seeking a Senior Contract Administrator who will be responsible for overseeing all contractual aspects of construction projects, including contract negotiation, compliance monitoring, change order management, and invoice processing. This position requires a deep understanding of construction industry practices, strong financial acumen, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage contracts and coordinate between project teams, subcontractors, and accounting. The Senior Contract Administrator ensures the company’s interests are protected and projects are completed successfully.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements
  • Ensure contract terms and conditions are comprehensive, unambiguous, and aligned with company policies
  • Collaborate with project managers, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to finalize contract language
  • Manage the execution and administration of contracts, including maintaining all documentation
  • Monitor contractor/subcontractor performance and compliance with contract terms
  • Identify, address, and resolve potential issues or disputes that may arise during the contract period
  • Review and process contract change orders, amendments, and modifications
  • Negotiate and document changes to contract scope, schedule, and budget
  • Obtain necessary approvals and signatures for contract changes
  • Review and verify contractor/subcontractor invoices for accuracy and compliance
  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes related to contracts
  • Reconcile contract-related financial records and maintain detailed transaction histories
  • Coordinate the completion and closeout of contracts, including the release of retainage and warranties
  • Handle complex contract-related disputes, claims, and litigation, in collaboration with legal counsel
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in contract management
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on contract status, performance, and any issues
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on best practices in contract administration
  • Continuously improve contract management processes and identify opportunities for optimization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, accounting, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in construction contract administration or a senior-level accounting role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction contracts for general contractors
  • Excellent understanding of construction industry practices, contracts, and regulations
  • Proficient in contract management software, accounting systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze complex financial data
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
