Our client in Irving, Texas is seeking an IT Systems Administrator with the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in various IT engineering and operations disciplines including Windows Server administration, email administration, backup systems, monitoring and alerting systems, storage device management, desktop support, and Active Directory/identity management.
• Established experience and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
• Confidence interacting with a wide range of people from clerical staff, operations, developers, senior management, and vendors.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and an attention to detail.
• Must possess ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to organize multiple work tasks and prioritize them to meet specific deadlines.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Proficiency to read, write and communicate orally the English language, especially IT technical terms and concepts.
• Physical qualifications required to perform the job function: ability to lift 25 lbs., climb stairs, sit for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with virtualized systems design and implementation for private and hybrid clouds, particularly with VMware, Azure and AWS.
• Proficiency with the provisioning and configuration of resources in virtualized environments, experience with Microsoft web / app / database stacks a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of IT concepts such as identity management, two-factor authentication, host-based security, and security event management.
• Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
• Competency in PowerShell scripting and task automation.
• Technical writing and verbal communication skills to develop and maintain documentation, and to communicate effectively with fellow team members, management, and non-engineering support staff in both technical and user-friendly language.
Essential Job Functions:
• Collaborate with other Engineering and Operations staff to engineer IT infrastructure solutions to comply with IT security and configuration standards.
• Provision hardware and configure software to fulfill the needs of development and other departments while conforming to IT security and configuration standards.
• Ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems.
• Assist in the daily administration and ongoing maintenance of software and hardware on all data center systems and devices.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support by responding to incidents and requests in a timely manner, provide regular status updates, and track changes using approved software.
• Develop, configure, and maintain server and workstation images/templates.
• Execute business continuity strategies, maintain system backups, and ensure that all systems are meeting defined SLAs.
• Assist senior Engineers and other IT managers to develop, update, and document IT infrastructure and operational policies and standards. Develop and maintain system runbooks, documentation of configuration specifics, and procedural guides for applicable systems.
