Our client in Plano, Texas is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a remote, full-time position. You may also choose to work from their offices in Plano or Alpharetta, Georgia.
We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to design, build, and deploy modern machine learning pipelines within Databricks. This role blends technical depth with business expertise in the B2B payments and fraud detection space, helping drive smarter decision-making, improve operational workflows, and shape new product offerings.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into measurable outcomes that position our client as a leader in payments for high-risk industries.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with internal stakeholders to answer strategic business questions using advanced analytics.
- Build, manage, and optimize ML pipelines and models in Databricks, from research through deployment (feature engineering, containerization, orchestration, monitoring, validation).
- Identify new opportunities for data-driven solutions; prototype, test, and validate with external datasets.
- Develop AI-enabled tools to improve business decision-making and automate workflows.
- Enhance internal and external ML products by researching new methodologies and validation techniques.
- Integrate external vendor data (LexisNexis, Experian, Equifax, etc.) to improve model accuracy.
- Present findings and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Prioritize and independently manage multiple projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
- 5–10+ years of experience in data science, engineering, or strategy roles.
- Proven experience with machine learning in production, particularly in Databricks.
- Deep knowledge of B2B payments or fraud detection.
- Strong technical skills: SQL, Python, data engineering, ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience integrating vendor datasets (LexisNexis, Experian, Equifax, etc.).
- Ability to work independently, manage projects, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, business acumen, and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
- Skilled in data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI).
