Our client in Dallas, Texas is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Platform Developer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric for a contract-to-hire opportunity based in North Dallas. This role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable analytics and reporting solutions that drive business decision-making.
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite in North Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering expertise with modern BI development experience in a cloud-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Development & Architecture
- Design and implement end-to-end BI solutions using Microsoft Fabric
- Develop and manage Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Dataflows
- Build and optimize data pipelines using Fabric Data Factory
- Develop scalable semantic models and datasets in Power BI
- Implement medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)
Data Engineering
- Ingest, transform, and model structured and unstructured data
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark, SQL, and Dataflows Gen2
- Optimize performance for enterprise-scale datasets
- Maintain data quality, governance, and lineage
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and governance controls
- Partner with business stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements
- Enable self-service analytics capabilities
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders
- Provide technical recommendations and best practices
- Document architecture, processes, and standards
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Engineering
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Strong Power BI experience (DAX, data modeling, performance tuning)
- Advanced SQL skills
- Experience with Azure-based data services
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling)
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Ability to work 3 days onsite per week in North Dallas
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Spark (PySpark or Spark SQL)
- Experience with Azure Data Factory or Synapse
- CI/CD experience for BI deployments
- Microsoft certifications (PL-300, DP-600)
- Experience working in Agile environments
