Our client in Grand Prairie, Texas is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant (preferably a CPA) to join their team on a contract basis. This role requires deep experience in the construction industry, specifically with Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition, intercompany accounting, and consolidated financial reporting.
This individual will play a key role in managing the month-end close
process, supporting audits, and ensuring accurate GAAP-based financial
reporting within a fast-paced, employee-owned, growth-oriented
environment.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
Own and manage balance sheet reconciliations and key account analyses
Prepare and post journal entries
Manage close timelines and ensure deadlines are met
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial reporting
Prepare and review consolidated financial statements
Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts across multiple entities
Apply and oversee Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition
Technical Accounting & Compliance
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
Maintain strong internal controls and support SOX compliance (if applicable)
Assist in preparation of technical accounting memos as needed
Audit Support
Prepare PBC (Prepared by Client) schedules
Serve as a primary contact for external auditors
Support audit walkthroughs and testing
Assist with ESOP-related accounting and valuation processes (preferred)
Systems & Process Improvement
Run and analyze ERP-generated financial reports
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements
Support system enhancements, integrations, and data clean-up initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project management,
and leadership teams
Required Qualifications
Active CPA license (required)
5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
Construction industry experience required
Strong experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition
Experience with intercompany accounting and consolidated financial statements
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Demonstrated ownership of month-end close responsibilities
Audit support experience with direct auditor interaction
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an ESOP or employee-owned company
Familiarity with ESOP accounting and valuation processes
Experience supporting acquisitions or multi-entity environments
Background in process improvement and automation initiatives
